Event name: Activities for the 50th anniversary of Spéléo Québec
Event description: To celebrate Spéléo Québec’s 50th anniversary and to mark the International Year of Caves and Karst, our organization will organize a wide variety of activities. There will be public lectures, a geological excursion and a research camp for new caves as well as a national gathering of Quebec cavers. A family day of introduction to caving is also on the calendar. The inauguration of a reception building at the Trou du diable and the development of the Saint-Léonard cave in order to introduce a larger number of peoples to caving is planned. There will also be several launches, including a book on Quebec caves and karst, a documentary on the history of caving and the launch of other publications is planned.
